Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer Review

Kyle Smith of the New York  Post writes, "Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer" is sure to appeal to kids of all ages from 6 to 9 who are female and have no taste or sense of humor."

The Boston Herald's James Verniere says, "Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer begins with bedazzled credits, and it's downhill from there."

Scott Chitwood of Coming Soon writes, "If you need to entertain kids for a couple of hours this summer, then Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer fits the bill. But if you're looking to be entertained as well, you may want to select another film."

Hollywood.com's Thomas Leupp says, "It's super-awful-crapadelic!"
We thought there was more of a sliding scale for kids movies.
Some of our fondest kids movie memories are of crap like "Return to Oz" and "Care Bears in Wonderland." Are kids movies all supposed to be cinematic gems nowadays?

Anyway, despite the critics' displeasure, "Judy Moody" did rustle up $2.2 million at the box office Friday night, which is solid for a $20 million kids movie. That number should get decidedly better as kids go to the weekend matinees
